- Ion exchange resins filters: Here, water goes through resins that soften water by absorbing the present minerals.
How to maintain water purifiers
Wash the water filters every 6 to 12 months, depending on the manufacturer’s instructions and the water supply quality.
Since total dissolved solids (TDS) can produce a bad smell when it accumulates, it is essential to have the filters cleaned periodically. - In the pre-filtration stage, they contain a filter cartridge that leaves out sand, and other sediments consist of the pre-filtering process. Every six to nine days (for industrial RO) and every quarter (for Domestic RO), you must change the pre-filter cartridge.
- The second stage of the filtration process is the carbon filter that eliminates chlorine and bad smell.
- The third stage is where the residual sediments are excluded and drained from the membrane.
Cleaning and sanitization:
Water purifier must be well washed and sanitized by specialists. 2-3 times in a year, depends on volume of water filtered; it needs to go through sanitization and also recharge.
